Coming soon we’ll be running and Facebook and Twitter campaign aiming to tell people what marrow is all about, as well as busting some myths! The campaign will be launched in the next few weeks so make sure to stay tuned as we’ll be adding our original spin to the campaign…
We’ve also been organising our Miles4Marrow events which you can now get involved with. We are holding 3 events in the next few months, a 24-hour cycle at Leeds University Union, we will be conquering the Yorkshire 3 peaks challenge and we will have a team running the Leeds Half Marathon. If you’re interested in any of these events, make sure to stay tuned via our Facebook and Twitter, as we will be giving details on how to sign up for an event very soon!
Finally we’d like to offer our condolences to the family of Issy Miller. Although Issy was fortunate enough to receive a bone marrow transplant in 2012, she sadly passed away at the end of January. Nick and Alex O (our president and vice-president) were fortunate to meet Issy when she won the Little Hero of the Year Award at the Anthony Nolan Supporter Awards.
People like Issy is why we do what we do. It is so important to help raise money for Anthony Nolan so that vital research can be done to improve the care for people who have received a bone marrow transplant. So whether you’re running a marathon, collecting money in the street or checking spit levels, just get stuck in, so that we can help to save the lives of people like Issy.
Looking forward to a great second semester! Lots of Marrow love xx
