Last weekend was the National Marrow Marrow AGM, and what a fantastic weekend it was! Getting to see, meet and talk with other Marrow groups was awesome!
The weekend started with a review of the Marrow year! Marrow groups over the last year managed to get 13,057 more people on to the register, have 119 people actually donate, 29% of all donations, and raise a massive £161,000! Some absolutely astonishing numbers! There was also a variety of workshops throughout the weekend we got to attend, learning and exchanging ideas for how to make Marrow better!
Throughout the weekend we also heard from a variety of guest speakers! These inspiring talks really made what we do at Marrow seem real, and gave us the impetus to keep going and make ourselves better and bigger than before!
Finally, one of the biggest highlight for us at Leeds was the awards dinner! We managed to win the awards for highest overall donors recruited and highest fundraising amount for the year, just under 1500 people and just over £13,500 respectively! It was also the first time ever we've won both awards for the same year, a phenomenal achievement that we couldn't of done without anyone who'd helped us the last year! So thank you all for helping us achieve that!
So yeah, there was more to the weekend than that was mentioned here but nevertheless it was absolutely unbelievable to be apart of it! Thank you to all the groups, national
Marrow and Anthony Nolan for coming to Leeds to make the weekend the great success it was! See you all next year after the #evenbetterbestmarrowyearever!
The Leeds Committee all happy after collecting the awards!
