Its been a busy few weeks for us here at Leeds Marrow. Amazingly within this time we have had an extraordinary 3 people chosen as potential matches for people out there in dire need of a bone marrow transplant.
Just over a week ago three intrepid volunteers took part in Tough Mudder , a 12 mile long assault course designed by the ex-special forces, and succeeded. It was an excruciatingly difficult course and of course it was all done to raise money for Anthony Nolan. Currently together they have raised over £1,000 but you can still help them by donating! The event was all filmed and is currently being edited and should be released soon.
Just the day after we held our first Charity Poker Night with over 80 players taking part. We managed to raise an astounding £800 in total and we look forward to holding another poker night in the future.
In other news we held a recruitment event at Kirkstall Breweries accommodation signing up 63 potential donors to the Anthony Nolan making it another successful event.
This leaves us with just two more events left this term our last recruitment event at Concept Place on the 3rd December. Not to forget this year Anthony Nolan has been picked as one of this years charities for ITV's Text Santa charities. It is a brilliant chance for Anthony Nolan to raise massive amounts of money so that they can continue their life-saving work. We will be helping out at the Text Santa bag pack at Asda shops within Leeds on the 6th December, 9am-1pm.
